(CAVEAT BEFORE THIS POST. I LIKE BON JOVI. THIS IS NO REFLECTION OF HIM AS AN ARTIST. HE DOES A LOT OF CHARITABLE WORK TOO IN CASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW)
So, riding the Path the other day I saw the following poster and it really annoyed me. As you can see it is promoting Bon Jovi's 10 night stand in the new Prudential Center in Newark, but what really gets me is the BONJOVI.COM in the title. Come on, couldn't you have just put the URL at the bottom. BonJovi.com isn't at the Prudential Center. I know some of you are thinking, heck at least they put the URL in there, but that's just pathetic. It doesn't look right and it isn't cute.
Besides, I think the Prudential Center needs to kick up the marketing some more. There are grumblings that people don't want to go to Newark for shows like this and if you go into Ticket Master right now you can pull lower levels on the first night for these concerts. They are not sold out and while Bon Jovi can't quite put the butts in seats like The Boss, he should be able to sell out a few nights. What even gets me more fired up about this was the use of public funds to build this arena. If a home grown, major superstar like Bon Jovi can't sell out in Newark than who can except maybe Springsteen, but sadly Bruce can't play there every night during the year.

Eric
