A while back I wrote a post called What's Your Blogging Storey about our friend Muffin starting her own blog and the motivations for a blog. This post also should have clued you readers into understanding that you need to get multiple views of any issue that you care about.
Well in addition to the New York Times which I long ago gave up on as a legitimate source for national or political news, you can now add The WashingtonPost and of course MSNBC to the list forming a Triangle of No Legit News. That's right - I would never turn to those three when it comes to national political news. They can't be trusted at all to filter stories or even try to hide a reporting bias.
Over the weekend the WashingtonPost had the audacity to admit that they had a political bias when it came to reporting on Obama. They admitted to the following offenses which means you should just IGNORE them when it comes to news unless of course you are just in it for entertainment:
- But Obama deserved tougher scrutiny than he got, especially of his undergraduate years, his start in Chicago and his relationship with Antoin "Tony" Rezko, who was convicted this year of influence-peddling in Chicago. The Post did nothing on Obama's acknowledged drug use as a teenager.
- One gaping hole in coverage involved Joe Biden, Obama's running mate. When Gov. Sarah Palin was nominated for vice president, reporters were booking the next flight to Alaska. Some readers thought The Post went over Palin with a fine-tooth comb and neglected Biden. They are right; it was a serious omission.
Gee isn't that swell? Thanks for the news reporting guys. Oh and lets not forget MSNBC. Of course it has become nothing more than the Daily Kos television show, but now you have Chris Matthews admitting that his job is to make an Obama presidency a success.
The WashingtonPost, The New York Times, and MSNBC - A Triangle of No Legitimate News with their goals of electing people they want and generating advertising revenue. Know your blogging storey people...

P.S...Here's a link to The Times Mark Halpern complaining about the Obama media bias and Chuck Schmumer talking about the fairness doctrine..
