Obama, Emails, and Blagojevich

Let me see if I get this right.  According to Politico Barack Obama is pledging to disclose contacts between his staff and Blagojevich but is stopping short of releasing email communications.  You mean the Tech President thinks that we can be fooled with promising full disclosure but those communications on The Internet thingie or a Blackberry aren't being released. That's just not good enough for someone who promised you voters Change. 

Want more Change?  How about hiding behind a technicality?  When asked about this according to Politico

Asked if the team would voluntarily release the records, the spokeswoman, Stephanie Cutter, was non-committal. “Let's wait and see what we put out after our internal review,” she told Politico. “I don’t even know if there’s any correspondence to be had, so one step at a time.”

Again, that's just not good enough President-elect Obama when you say things like this...

President-elect Barack Obama said Thursday morning that he is “confident” no one representing him took part in any pay-to-play dealings with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich over filling Obama’s U.S. Senate seat, and pledged to release details of contacts between his team and the governor’s office in the next few days. “I have never spoken to the governor on this subject. I am confident that no representatives of mine would have any part of any deals related to this seat. I think the materials released by the U.S. attorney reflect that fact,” Obama said at a Chicago news conference. “I’ve asked my team to gather the facts of any contacts with the governor’s office about this vacancy so that we can share them with you over the next few days.”

Detailed contacts include text and email communications and we shouldn't care whether there is a loophole or not regarding them.  That also includes Tweets and blog comments by your team.

Personally I doubt that President-Elect had any doings with trying to sell his seat.  However, who knows what a rogue team member could have texted or instant messaged.  We should have all communications released - not just the ones that are legally required.

Change is hard.  Releasing email communications are not.
